Meet The Leading Women in Clean Technology: Kameale C. Terry + Evette Ellis
Learn How South LA Natives are Combating Wildfires + Climate Change
All across the West Coast and amplified in the backyard of California, there is a thick cloud of smoke from the wildfires and the inevitable effects of climate change.
Unfortunately, communities like South Central LA are heavily impacted by these conditions and are often not provided opportunities to be a part of the solution.
As a South Central LA native, Kameale C. Terry witnessed how the environment and climate change negatively influenced her community. Because of her upbringing, she learned about entrepreneurship and resourcefulness.
Her experiences working with other clean technology companies have provided the ability to win Google’s first Start-Up grind in South LA and ability to be the Co-Founder and CEO of ChargerHelp! Inc., a company that has developed an app for the on-demand repair of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations.
With ChargerHelp! Inc.’s app and curriculum, more green jobs are created and are available to underrepresented communities. Kameale believes her community and those are the most impacted- should not only be a part of the conversation but also benefit from the results of the solution.
Prior to launching ChargerHelp!, Kameale met her Co-Founder Evette Ellis at Los Angeles Clean-Tech Incubator. Evette’s extensive experience in workforce development goes hand in hand with Kameale’s passion for access and opportunity.
Evette Ellis who hails from Compton, CA has spent the last 15 years working young adults ages by creating professional development opportunities.
Together, the pair are paving the way in clean technology while bridging the wealth gap and creating a pipeline for communities of color to clean technology.
